Join wildlife artist Robert Louis Caldwell as he travels back to Africa on a 12 day safari in May/June 2019, this time to the amazing and beautiful Botswana. Robert fell in love with Africa the moment he stepped off the plane in 2012 and once again is inviting a group of friends to join on his next adventure.
On safari in Botswana you will explore the magnificent Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve and Makgadikgadi National Park. While traveling in such diverse habitats, you experience unparalled wildlife viewing opportunities. You will stay in deluxe tented camps and lodges and be accompanied by highly skilled safari guides.
May and June are exciting months. The African wild dogs begin to search for dens, which makes them easier to find for the next three or four months as they operate from their dens. Exciting hunts and playful puppies – what more could you wish for! Buffalo begin to group into large herds and visit the river areas more often as the seasonal pans begin to dry. Breeding herds of elephant increase in density daily as they visit the permanent waters. Some green bushes and trees persist but leaf drop commences and pans dry up. Animals concentrate at permanent water sources, as do their predators. The migratory birds begin their flights to winter-feeding and breeding grounds in faraway places.
