Art of the Animal Kingdom, an annual invitational event, has become the Bennington Center for the Arts’ signature show and attracts some of the most renowned names in the wildlife art field to Bennington, Vermont.

“Faded” was inspired by a dilapidated barn spotted along Route 50 in Northern Virginia. The exposed, aging wood, the peeling paint and the tangle of electrical wires provide a composition rich with texture -- and a perfect perch for the Carolina chickadee.
